Double title for Philippines in Asia Rugby Sevens Trophy 2024
The Philippines won the Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Trophy-2024 men’s title after defeating Chinese Taipei.
They won the title by defeating Chinese Taipei with a score of 27-14 in the final held at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar on Saturday.
From the beginning of the game, the Philippines managed to keep Chinese Taipei under pressure. Keeping up the pressure until the end, the Philippines emerged victorious.
Also, the Philippines has won the women’s title of Asia Rugby Emirates-2024 by defeating India. The Philippines won the title by defeating India with a score of 7-5.
After defeating Indonesia, Guam won the third place in Asia Rugby Emirates-2024. Guam defeated Indonesia 22-19. Indonesia had a competitive game with Guam from the start.
Indonesia lost 19-10 to the Philippines in the semi-finals. Guam lost to India 24-7.
Nepal defeated in ‘Challenge Third’
Nepal’s men’s team has been defeated in Asia Rugby Emirates-2024 ‘Challenge Third’. Nepal lost to Afghanistan with a score of 22-5 in the match at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar on Saturday.
At one time, Nepal had already returned to the game. At that time, the score of Nepal and Afghanistan was 5-5. While Nepal stopped at the same 5 scores, Afghanistan added 17 more scores. With this, Nepal was defeated with a score of 22-5.
Earlier, Nepal was defeated by Qatar 33-0 in the ‘Challenge’. The winners were awarded by National Sports Council Member-Secretary Tanklal Ghising, Nepal Olympic Committee Secretary General Nilendraraj Shrestha, Nepal Rugby Association President Deepak Devkota.
