Supreme Court upheld the decision of the High Court in Resham Chaudharys case

The Supreme Court upheld the decision of the High Court Dipayal to convict Resham Chaudhary in the Tikapur murder case and send him to jail. On Tuesday, the bench of Justice Anand Mohan Bhattarai and Nahakul Subedi upheld the decision to keep Chaudhary in jail.

The bench has ruled that the appeal filed by the defendants to be acquitted of the charges is not sufficient.

Chaudhary, who is accused of the violent incident that took place during the Tharuhat Tharuwan movement in Tikapur of Kailali in Bhadra 2072, including SSP Laxman Neupane of Nepal Police and 7 security personnel and a minor, is currently serving life imprisonment. He was sentenced to life imprisonment by District Court Kailali and High Court Dipayal.
