The twelveth edition of the Cricket World Cup Qualifier is set to get underway in Zimbabwe on Sunday (June 18).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tournament includess four Full Members of the ICC – West Indies, Sri Lanka, Ireland and Zimbabwe – against the six best-performing Associate countries over the past four years – Nepal, Netherlands, Scotland, Oman, USA and UAE<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These ten teams ready in Zimbabwe shares the same solitary objective, namely to finish in the top two of the Super Sixes and thus book their tickets to India.The tournament follows the same format as the previous edition, with the ten teams divided into two groups of five, each playing a single round-robin match. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Group A will be situated in Harare and will include hosts Zimbabwe, West Indies, Netherlands, Nepal, and United States. In Bulawayo, top-seeded Sri Lanka will face Ireland, Scotland, Oman, and UAE in Group B. The top three teams from each group go to the Super Sixes, while the worst two are ousted and must compete in consolation playoffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The successful six teams carry with them any group stage points won against teams that also progress to the Super Six stage where they will each play three further matches against the teams that won through the opposite group. The table-toppers and runners-up will progress directly to the Final, with both finalists assured of qualification for the World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nepal’s group consist of two Test Nations, West Indies and the host Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pitch of Harare is batting friendly which favours the chasers. Looking at the previous matches, winning the toss would be a huge boost for the victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nepal will play against the mighty West Indies at Takasingha Sports Club. It has short boundaries and what’s currently a very hard and flat wicket, and will also be proven as batting friendly pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nepal has displayed poor performance in the practice match which were held in African regions. Nepali batter are yet to be fimiliar with the pitch in the Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, Nepal’s pace attack also doesn’t looks very promising. They have been performing very inconsistently and may cost Nepal very much. The team is relying heavily in its batting depth and spinners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though Nepal finish on top three of the initial group stage, it seems almost impossible to qualify further looking at this performance. Nepal once again needs to be dependent of skipper Rohit’s luck to win the toss which will give a huge advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coach Monty has not failed to utilize the squad at its maximum till now. He has got unique tactics and plans in accordance to the opponents. Hope he has got something for the upcoming games too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nepal’s playing XI may get some minor changes per match looking at the opponent. The openers need to get Nepal a good start to have a stable foundation. Kushal Burtel did scored a brilliant ton and Sompal Kami took a fifer but their performance has been very incosistant. Bowling still depends on Sandeep Lamichhane and with now the rise of Lalit Rajbansi, he can be used as attacking option like we have seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At last, Nepal has got some of the finist all-rounder which can turn the match winners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
