APF’s Prince Dahal and Tribhuvan Army’s Rasila Maharjan have won the title of the first Prakash Dahal Memorial National Open Badminton Tournament 2080.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the men’s singles section of the tournament organized by Sports Haw, Prince won the title by defeating Army’s Praful Maharjan in straight sets 2-0. Prince, who won the first set 21-16, stopped Praful 21-16 in the second set to claim the title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

APF’s Dev Raj Rana and Nepal Police’s Bishnu Katuwal settled for third place. Similarly, Rasila won the women’s singles title with an easy victory over Anumaya Rai of her own club. Rasila defeated Anu 21-3 in the first set and lost the second set 21-14. Amita Giri of Army and Seema Rajbanshi of Kasturi College were joint third.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anuj Tamang and Sumit Thokar of the organizer Sports Haw won the local side of the competition held at the organizer’s own covered hall at Buddh Lakhepokhari. The pair of Anuj and Sumit defeated the pair of Anish Gurung and Ramesh Thakuri of Sports Havkai by 18-21, 21-11, 21-13 and won the first place. The pair of Dhruv Khatri and Lakpa Tamang and the pair of Ashmil Shahi and Lakpa Sherpa came third.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the men’s top 20 doubles side, the pair of Abhishek Gurung and Nischal Khatri of the organizers and the pair of Legislative Officer of Kaski and Pavin Linthep of Army won the title by winning 21-14, 21-19. The pair of Bhoj Bahadur Gurung and Santosh Paneru of APF and Bibek Kandangwa and Nelson Rai were joint third.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the veterans over 35 game, the duo of Vishal Khadka of Kaski and Suroj Maharjan of Army won the title. The pair of Khadka and Maharjan won the title after defeating the host pair of Akash Chantyal and Ang Kusang Sherpa 21-11, 21-14. The pair of Chitwan scholar Gurung and Amar Rayamazhi and the pair of Sanjay Kapali and Anil Thamsuhang from Peace Fitness Center took the third place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the above 45 years competition, the pair of Hari Khatri and Rajkumar Pokharel of Chandragiri Badminton Club won the title by winning over the pair of Sanjay Kapali and Anil Thamsuhang of Peace Fitness Center. The pair of Khatri and Pokharel won 21-14, 21-18 over the pair of Kapali and Thamsuhang. The duo of Tilak Chantyal and Hira Roka of Gandaki and Dhirendra Chand of APF and Tika Thapa Magar of Tokha came joint third.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winner, runner-up and third place players received medals, certificates and trophies along with cash of 45,000, 25,000 and 10,000 in the competition with a cost of around 2.5 million.
