The Election Commission (EC) has clarified that candidates who previously contested elections and submitted and made public their election expenditure details in accordance with the law will not be blacklisted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Commission made this clarification today with regard to the news reports doing the rounds, stating that even candidates who had submitted their poll expense details were included in the blacklist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Commission’s Spokesperson, Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, clarified that the Commission has imposed a fine on those failing to make public their election expenses as per the prevailing law in the parliamentary election in 2079 BS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Spokesperson Bhattarai informed that such candidates have been ordered to disclose their election expenditure details yet again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Commission also dismissed the news being disseminated in some media outlets regarding the blacklisting of certain candidates did not hold any truth.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Commission, a constitutional body mandated to conduct and monitor election, said that the candidates who failed to submit their election expenses details on time were slapped a fine of Rs 1,500 each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, the Commission made it clear that the candidates who have paid the prescribed fine at the concerned election office or whose cases have been resolved by a court order will not be barred from running for the election.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that once the fine is paid, the concerned candidate is automatically removed from the blacklist and faces no obstacle to contesting elections again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
