Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has said that the government’s strategy is to implement economic reforms through policy decisions throughout the year, not limiting them to the annual budget.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at a discussion program organized on expanding economic and business activities, creating an investment-friendly environment, and contemporary issues of the economy, Finance Minister Dr. Wagle said that there is no need to wait for the budget for economic reforms, adding that continuous reform work can be taken forward through policy decisions by the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Finance.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said, “It is our clear belief that the economy will not move forward without encouraging the private sector. We have brought forward tax and policy reforms with the aim of doing business openly, paying taxes, and becoming proud citizens, not based on anyone’s pressure or demand. If any reforms are needed, there is no need to wait for the next budget. It can be done through the Council of Ministers and at the ministerial level.”\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He claimed that the current government has made efforts to introduce entrepreneur- and business-friendly policies despite not having enough time to prepare the budget.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that in the past, efforts have been made to end the double standard of publicly expressing negative views towards the private sector but relying on them in practice. He said, “We have abandoned the double standard. The tendency to criticize the private sector but run politics with their help must end.
