‘Heeramandi’ , the most expensive Indian show on OTT
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, which premiered on Netflifx on May 1, 2024 received rave reviews across the globe. Apart from its direction, music and performances, the web series also garnered appreciation for its larger-than-life sets, which turned out to be a visual spectacle for the viewers.
With its grandeur and magical world, Heeramandi came up with a production budget of humongous Rs 200 crore. While Sanjay Leela Bhansali charged Rs 60-70 crore for direction as per Money Control, Sonakshi Sinha took home Rs 2 crore for her dual portrayals of Rehana and Fareedan.

Manisha Koirala and Richa Chadha charged Rs 1 crore each for the characters of Mallikajaan and Lajjo aka Lajwanti. Aditi Rao Hydari, who won our hearts with her portrayal of Bibbojaan received Rs 1-1.5 crore.
Sanjeeda Sheikh and Sharmin Segal reportedly charged Rs 40 lakh and 30 lakh for their characters of Rehana and Alamzeb. Fardeen Khan, who made a much-awaited comeback as Wali Mohommad, charged Rs 75 lakh. Heeramandi has become the highest grossing web series in OTT till now.
