Housefull 5 has a good start at the box office
Bollywood’s Sajid Nadiadwala’s multi-starrer film ‘Housefull 5’ has had a stellar start at the Indian box office. The comedy film, which features more than a dozen stars, has earned Rs 243.5 crore on its first day of release.
Bollywood film analyst Taran Adarsh has mentioned that Housefull 5 has become the third highest-grossing film of the year on its first day of release. However, the earnings of Housefull 5, which has a big star cast, have been called average. Now, it is said that this film will be a hit or a flop based on how it performs on Saturday and Sunday.
The first film of Housefull was released in 2010. Directed by Sajid Khan, the film made a lot of laughs from the audience and earned around 75 crores. The first part of Housefull featured Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Deepika Padukone.
Then, in 2012, Housefull 2 expanded the scope of the story and characters, and the film benefited greatly from the entry of actors like Jacqueline Fernandez, John Abraham, Asin, and Rishi Kapoor.
The film earned 112 crores at the box office. Then the third film, Housefull-3, was released in 2016, but it proved to be a bit weaker than the previous films. Although Akshay, Riteish, and Abhishek Bachchan managed to make the audience laugh, the film earned 110 crores.
This was followed by Housefull 4 in 2019, which once again took the franchise to new heights. The film, based on the theme of reincarnation, was presented with a huge star cast and a visually grand scale.
This time, the film broke the record and earned Rs 210 crore, and proved that the Housefull franchise still has power. Apart from Akshay-Riteish, Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Kriti Sanon also entered Housefull 4.
Now the fifth installment, ‘Housefull 5’, has also arrived in theaters. The film features more than 20 actors, including veteran actors like Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Nana Patekar. Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Chitrangada Singh also play important roles. The film is directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
