Vinesh Phogat quits wrestling after Olympics disqualification
Indian athlete Vinesh Phogat, who was disqualified in the finals of the 50 kg group of the Paris Olympics due to 100 gram over weight, has said goodbye to wrestling.
After getting out of the finals of the Paris Olympics, Vinesh announced her retirement from wrestling through social media.
Vinesh wrote – ‘Mother, wrestling won me, I lost. Sorry for your dream, I lost my courage. I have no more strength now. Goodbye wrestling 2001-2024’, she further wrote – ‘I will always be indebted to all of you. Sorry.’ He reached the finals of the 50 kg group on Wednesday and was disqualified from the finals because he was 100 grams overweight before playing the gold medal match.
