Advance Ticket Sales for Film ‘Ramayana’ Cross 100,000
Advance ticket sales for the Indian film Ramayana: Part One have surpassed the 100,000 mark. Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash in lead roles, the film is set for a worldwide release on November 5. With 12 days remaining until its release, the film sold over 100,000 tickets across major Indian cinema chains. By October 25, a total of 107,562 tickets had been sold at the domestic box office. Reports state that 96,645 of these were sold through PVR INOX and 10,917 through Cinépolis, with particularly robust demand seen for IMAX screenings.
Bookings are expected to surge further as the release date draws closer. The filmmakers reportedly aim to sell 500,000 tickets across major theater chains, though hitting that target before Diwali may pose a challenge.
Ticket prices for certain IMAX screenings have climbed above 2,000 Indian rupees. Despite the steep pricing, tickets at those venues are continuing to sell. With the final eight-day pre-release window beginning October 28, momentum is expected to pick up. The film is reportedly eyeing an opening day haul of over ₹70 crore INR; however, given the pre-Diwali period, an opening of ₹60 crore is also analyzed as a strong start. As bookings gain pace, anticipation is mounting over how Ramayana will reshape the Indian film market post-release.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is a two-part cinematic adaptation of the epic composed by Maharishi Valmiki. Ranbir Kapoor portrays Lord Rama, Yash plays Ravana, and Sai Pallavi stars as Sita. The ensemble cast also features Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek Oberoi, and Kunal Kapoor, among others. The second installment is slated for a Diwali 2027 release.
