What did Vishwash, a survivor of the Air India plane crash, say?

241 people have been confirmed dead in the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, while one British passenger of Indian origin has survived the crash. The unharmed passenger was on a Boeing 787-8 flight bound for London and was seated in seat number 11A.

The passenger has been identified as Vishwash  Kumar Ramesh, a British citizen of Indian origin. Air India said 241 of the 242 people on board the flight had died, including 12 crew members. The dead included 169 Indians, 52 Britons, seven Portuguese, and one Canadian, Air India said.

According to local media reports, Vishwas Kumar Ramesh, who was lying in a hospital bed, also showed reporters his boarding pass, which recorded his name and seat number. Ramesh told the media, “After 30 seconds of takeoff, a loud noise was heard, and then the plane crashed. It all happened in a matter of moments.” Ramesh told reporters, “When I regained consciousness, there were bodies all around me. I was very scared. I got up and started running. There was debris all around me. Someone picked me up and put me in an ambulance, and took me to the hospital.”

He said his brother Ajay was sitting in the next row on the plane. He said, “He was traveling with me, and I couldn’t find him. Please help me find him.”

Speaking to the BBC, Ajay Walgi, the uncle of Vishwas Kumar Ramesh, who is in Leicester, UK, said that Vishwas called his family and informed them that he was ‘fine’. Vishwash ‘s wife and children are in the UK. Ramesh was born in India but has been living in the UK for many years.
