Delhi records major temperature, temp. reached to 50 degree celsius
A severe heat wave is going on in North and Central India. On Tuesday, the temperature reached 50 degrees in Churu, Rajasthan and Haryana. Three weather stations in Delhi have recorded temperatures up to 49 degrees.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the temperature was recorded at 49.9 degrees Celsius in Mungeshpur and Narela in Delhi and 49.8 degrees Celsius in Najafgarh.
Delhi has the highest temperature of this season. However, Mungeshpur and Narela weather stations were established in 2022 and have records for the last three years only. The IMD said that after May 30, we can get relief from the heat wave.
According to the India Meteorological Department, 10 weather stations recorded the highest temperatures this month – including Agra at 48.6 degrees Celsius, Dehri in Bihar at 47 degrees Celsius, Hamirpur in Uttar Pradesh at 48.2 degrees Celsius, Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh at 49 degrees Celsius, Narnaul in Haryana. 48.5°C, Ayanagar-Delhi 47.6°C, New Delhi-Ridge 47.5°C, Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa 48.2°C, Haryana’s Rohtak 48.1°C and Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi 47.2°C.
