Trump classified documents case dismissed
A Florida court has dismissed a case against former US President Donald Trump for illegally keeping classified documents. Judge Eileen Cannon, ruling in Trump’s favor, said he did not have jurisdiction to bring this case.
Cannon is a judge appointed by Trump. Judge Canon delivered a 93-page verdict. After the verdict, Trump said that dismissing this case was the first step and insisted that all four criminal cases against him should be dismissed. He said – ‘This judgment has resolved all the political attacks which were an election conspiracy against me by my political opponents.’
Trump was accused of wrongly taking secret documents from the White House to his private residence after leaving the US presidency.
In addition, Trump has been accused of obstructing the FBI’s efforts to return those documents. In addition, eight different allegations were made against Trump. These charges include conspiracy to obstruct justice, possession of documents or records, and making false statements. However, Trump has declared himself innocent of all charges.
