Two British MPs barred from entering Israel
Israel has denied entry to two British MPs. Israel has banned entry to two British MPs, Abtisam Mohammed and Yuan Yang. Both are members of the British Labour Party.
British Foreign Secretary David Lammy has criticised Israel’s move after the two MPs were blocked, calling it “unacceptable, counterproductive and deeply worrying”.
He said he had spoken to the Israeli Foreign Minister and said: “I have made it clear to my counterparts in the Israeli government that this is not appropriate treatment of British MPs.”
Israel said the two lawmakers were barred from entering Israel because they intended to incite and spread hate speech against their country. According to Israeli media, the Israel Population and Immigration Authority said Abtisam Mohammed and Yuan Yang were barred from entering because they intended to make “hate speech” against Israel.
