Air India plane crash: One person alive, 241 dead
241 passengers died in an Air India passenger plane crash in Ahmedabad, India, on Thursday . Air India has reported that 241 of the 242 people on board the plane have died, including 12 crew members.
Similarly, one of the passengers who survived the accident is a British citizen of Indian origin. The official death toll in the accident, apart from the passengers, is yet to be ascertained.
It is said that many doctors who were staying in the hospital hostel were injured when the plane hit the hostel. Air India flight AI-171, flying from Ahmedabad, India, to London, crashed two minutes after takeoff at 1:38 pm Indian time on Thursday afternoon.
