Kathmandu Valley flooded due to nightlong rainfall
Due to incessant rain on Monday night, rivers and streams in Kathmandu Valley have been flooded. The riverside settlements have been inundated due to the floods.
According to Kathmandu Police Chief SSP Ashok Singh, areas including Kandaghari, Paropakar, Balkhu, Sundarighat, Manohara, Kalapul , Teku , Sanepa have been inundated.
The Gokarneshwar Mahadev Temple and Uttargaya area on the banks of the Bagmati River have been inundated due to incessant rain. The floods along with the water have also damaged the roads in the area. During the expansion of Jorpati-Sundarijal road, some parts of the area have been affected by the floods. Most of the inner roads have been inundated.
The Bagmati coast area below Gokarna has also been inundated. Similarly, some houses in Ratopul Maitidevi area have been inundated due to the flood in Rudramati. The rain from Sunday night to Monday morning has affected many places in the valley.
