President Paudel is going to Geneva today
President Ramchandra Paudel is leaving for Geneva, Switzerland this evening, leading the Nepalese delegation to participate in the 112th session of the International Labor Conference.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he is scheduled to address the inaugural forum of the ‘Global Alliance for Social Justice’, which will be held at a high-level session on the Jestha 31 , as a keynote speaker.
During the visit, he will have a bilateral meeting with the President of the Swiss Confederation, Viola Amard, on May 30. It is said that this is probably the first time that a bilateral meeting will be held between the head of state of Nepal and the president of the Swiss Confederation.
According to Amrit Bahadur Rai, the spokesperson of the ministry, President Poudel is scheduled to leave for Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany from Geneva on June 1, during the visit.
President Paudel will be accompanied by his wife Sabita Paudel. Other members of the delegation will include President’s Foreign Affairs Expert Dr. Suresh Chandra Chalise, Secretary of the President’s Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepalese ambassadors to Switzerland and Germany, and senior officials of the President’s Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
President Paudel is scheduled to return home on June 5 after completing his visit.
