He said that permission was sought from the government on the basis of the report of the committee recommending to conduct the SEE examination. Chairman Poudel said that “the decision was made on the basis of the report submitted by the committee. We are hoping to get the permission soon”.

As the virus transmission rate was increasing, the National Examination Board had formed a committee under the coordination of Director General of the Center for Education and Human Resource Development, Vaikuntha Aryal, to suggest the conduct of SEE and Class 12 examinations.

The committee has also submitted a report on the examination method of class 12. The board said that permission has been sought only for SEE at present. Chairman Poudel said, “Currently, we have only sought permission for SEE.” For class 12, we have to wait a while and ask permission if needed”.

The printing of question papers for the SEE, which will start on Jestha 13, had already been completed. The board has informed that 5 lakh 17 thousand students are preparing for SEE and around 4 lakh students in class 12.

A meeting of the board held on Sunday decided to send the report with alternative methods suggested by the committee to the ministry and the ministry would select the appropriate method and send it to the cabinet, said Controller of Examinations Krishna Prasad Sharma.
