Veteran singer Yogesh Vaidya passed away
Legendary singer Yogesh Vaidya passed away last night. He was 77 years old. He was suffering from diabetes for a long time,he passed away at 12:30 PM during treatment at Kathmandu Valley Hospital in Sundhara. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.
His mortal remains will be kept at the Nepal Music and Drama Institute Naxal for some time and the funeral will be held at Pashupati Aryaghat today. He has given voice to about 500 Nepali songs and more than 100 songs in Newari language. Vaidhya had won the first prize from the National Song Conference, Chhinnalata Song Prize and several other awards during his musical and literary careers.   Â
Singer Vaidya had a kidney transplant few years ago and was suffering from a cold for a few days. Born in 2003 in Naradevi, his first composition ‘Kati Pyaasi Chh Zindagi’ and ‘Sapna Bhulai Sara’ are some of his popular songs.
