Kathmandy Valley Prohibitory extends by a week
Kathmandu: A meeting of the chief district officers (CDOs) of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur – the three districts in the Valley held earlier at 3:30PM today decision to extend prohibitory order by a week. The prohibitory orders enforced in the Kathmandu Valley have been extended by a week till June 21.
The ongoing prohibitory orders which were extended by 10 days on June 2 were due to end on the midnight of June 14.
The restriction orders in the Valley were first enforced on April 29 to break the chain of the contagious COVID-19 infection which has been extended time and again.
The meeting has decided to allow groceries and book shops to remain open till 11AM and allow online deliveries and take away services for hotels and restaurants. Likewise, the CDOs also decided to allow farmers to carry out farming activities during the period. Similarly, hardware shops can remain open after 4PM.
In the previous discussions of the Chief District Officers, it was also discussed to allow the transportation to be operated in odd-even system. But after the health ministry said it would be risky, transportation issues were not discussed in Sunday’s meeting.
