Newly appointed Prime Minister Sushila Karki takes the oath
Newly appointed interim government Prime Minister Sushila Karki has taken the oath of office and secrecy. President Ram Chandra Poudel administered the oath of office and secrecy.
President Ram Chandra Poudel has appointed Sushila Karki to lead the interim Council of Ministers as Prime Minister, as per Genji’s demand.
President Poudel has appointed Karki as Prime Minister in accordance with Article 61 of the Constitution. Clause (4) of the said article states that the President shall promote the national unity of Nepal and uphold and protect the Constitution as his primary duty. Similarly, Clause (3) states that the President shall promote the national unity of Nepal.
