PM Oli’s concern over patients’ long queues at hospitals

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed his concern about patients’ long queues at public hospitals.

At a meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Thursday, PM Oli asked what needs to be done to provide queue and hassle-free treatment to patients.

He urged to mobilize doctors and health workers when in need by giving them the necessary facilities.

“The trend of calling patients to the clinic after work by not giving them proper examination in the government hospitals during office hours needs to end,” PM Oli.

Stating that the tendency of not starting treatment for patients before admission and not receiving treatment because of being unable to pay needs to end, PM Oli urged to make health insurance practical and implementable.

On the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, Minister for Health and Population Pradip Poudel, Chief Secretary Liladevi Gadtaula, and other secretaries were also present.
