GenZ protest: Baneshwor area is tense
The Baneshwor area of Kathmandu has become tense. The Baneshwor area has become tense after the Gen Z protestors tried to enter the Parliament building. The protesting youth, who reached Baneshwor from Maitighar, broke through the police barricade and tried to enter the Parliament building.
The police used water cannons, tear gas, and fired into the air to stop the youth. There are youths on all sides of the Parliament building, and the police are trying to stop them. The police have removed some of the youths who entered the Parliament building.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu District Administration has imposed a curfew in the Baneshwor area as the situation has become tense. The Chief District Officer of Kathmandu has issued a curfew order in the Baneshwor area from 12:30 pm to 10 pm on Monday.
The curfew order has been issued in the areas from Baneshwor Chowk to West Everest Hotel to Bijulibazar Bridge, from Baneshwor Chowk to East Min Bhavan, through Shantinagar to Tinkune Chowk, and from Baneshwor Chowk to North Iplex Mall. It is located from Baneshwor Chowk to Ratna Rajya Secondary School, south of Shankhamul, and downhill to Shankhamul Bridge.
