I will fully cooperate in the investigation into the issues raised against me – Home Minister Gurung
Home Minister Sudan Gurung has said that he will fully cooperate in the investigation into the issues raised against him. He has made it clear through social media that he is ready to comply with the party’s decisions and provide necessary cooperation.
Stating that there have been various discussions involving his name in the recent past, Gurung has urged to differentiate between facts and rumors. He claimed that the allegations of hiding shares worth Rs 2.5 million were baseless and said that all investments were mentioned in the asset statement.
According to him, more than Rs 20 million worth of investments have been disclosed in companies traded on the stock market. He clarified that investments in Star Micro and Liberty Micro also fall under the same category, not to hide them, but to classify them. Gurung has stated that it is not illegal to purchase shares before becoming a minister and that all transactions were done through the banking system.
He said that the amount used for the investment was raised through loans and that documentary evidence and bank records are available. Regarding the allegation of partnership with a controversial person, he has said that since there are many shareholders in the same company, buying shares does not mean partnership with everyone.
He claims that such an allegation is unjustified. Regarding the allegation of ‘conflict of interest’, Gurung has said that the matter is being investigated by the concerned body and he has not interfered in it. He stated that risks are inherent in investments and it is not appropriate to blame previous decisions based on subsequent events. He also stated that it is not appropriate to react hastily, as the matter is legally sensitive.
Gurung stated that allegations and truth are different things, and decisions should be based on evidence. He reiterated his commitment to fully cooperate in the investigation process.
