President Paudel , PM Oli observed Indra Jatra festival
President Ramchandra Paudel and Prime Minister KP Sharma oli has observed the Indra Jatra held today at Hanumadho Palace.
President Paudel walked from Salik to Gaddi baithak. After reaching the gaddi baithak, President Paudel offered Dakshina to the chariots of Shri Ganesh, Shri Bhairav and Shri Kumari, and the chariot procession of Ganesh, Bhairav and Kumari .
Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Chief Justice Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, Speaker of the National Assembly Narayan Dahal, Deputy Prime Ministers Prakashman Singh and Bishnu Prasad Paudel, Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar, Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Badri Prasad Pandey and other members of the Council of Ministers, MPs, State Assembly Members, heads and representatives of the diplomatic missions here, representatives of the local people and prominent people of the society participated.
Today is the main day of Indra Jatra, which started in the morning on the day of Bhadra Shukla Dwadashi in the palace area of Hanuman Dhokha. Hari Prasad Subedi, head of religious branch of Guthi Sansthan, informed that the Rath Yatra will be conducted today in Tallotol.
Rath yatra will be held in Upper Town on Wednesday. On the 5th Ashwin the Nanicha Yatra will be carried out by women only. On the same day, in the afternoon, President Paudel will receive tika and prasad from Kumari. It is a tradition that after receiving tika and prasad, the President of the country will exchange the sword with the Kumari.
