Memorandum to the Indian Defense Minister for the promotion of religious tourism in Madhesh
Bikash Kumar Thakur, coordinator of the Madhesh Province Government’s ‘Ghumau Madhesh, Bujhau Madhesh’ program, has submitted a memorandum to Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh for the promotion of religious tourism in Madhesh.
They met Minister Singh at the ministry in New Delhi on Thursday and submitted a 10-point memorandum. Congress leader and former MP Abhishek Pratap Shah was also present on the occasion.
Coordinator Thakur said that a memorandum has been submitted to connect religious and historical tourist sites of Madhesh Province with India and promote them.
“I have submitted the memorandum with the hope of cooperation in the development and promotion of cultural, historical, and religious tourism sites in Madhesh Province, which borders India,” he said.
In response, Indian Defense Minister Singh said that there is a need to advance the historical and religious relations between Nepal and India in line with the current times.
He also emphasized that devotees from Nepal and India should be treated with special care without causing any inconvenience. “I will take the initiative to make an agenda for the upcoming visit of the Prime Minister of India for the Madhesh Province Tourism Year.””It gives some results,” he said.
The memorandum notes that the citizens of Madhesh Province have historically, culturally, linguistically, and familially been connected to India, and that this region is rich in various religious, cultural, and natural tourist destinations.
