Floods, landslides disrupted Nepal

Heavy rains and floods wreaked havoc on Wednesday in several parts of the country disrupted normal life.

The torrential rains also inundated several villages, submerged houses, and caused landslides in different parts of Nepal, disrupting vehicular traffic and bringing down power lines.

Heavy rains have turned rivers in spate, forcing the authorities to advise the people living on banks to safer and higher places.

Melamchi Municipality and Helambu Rural Municipality witnessed massive destruction due to floods and landslides triggered by incessant rainfall on Wednesday.

Dozens of people have gone missing. At some places, even three to four storied buildings have been completely submerged in water.

Nepal Army and other security personnel are doing their best to rescue people and distribute relief.
