Nepal’s historic win against the West Indies
Nepal has achieved a historic victory against the West Indies. Nepal defeated the UAE by 19 runs in the first match of the Unity Series held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the UAE.
Chasing the target of 149 runs set by Nepal, the West Indies scored 129 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Earlier, Nepal, who had won the toss and elected to bat first, scored 148 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Captain Rohit Poudel top-scored for Nepal with 38 runs. Similarly, Kushal Malla scored 30, Gulshan Jha 22, and Dipendra Singh Airee scored 17 runs. Similarly, Sandeep Jora scored 9 runs, Kushal Bhurtel scored 6 runs, Aasif Sheikh scored 3 runs, Sompal Kami scored 9 runs unbeaten, and Nandan Yadav scored 6 runs unbeaten.
West Indies bowler Jason Holder took the most wickets with 4, while Naveen took 3 and Aqeel Hossain took one wicket.
This is the first time Nepal has defeated a Test-playing nation in international cricket. After this victory, Nepal has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Now, the second match of the series is scheduled to be played on Monday.
