Palesha Govardhan selected for Para Olympics
Nepalese Para Taekwondo player Palesha Govardhan has been selected for Paris Para Olympics-2024 in France.
Palesha won the gold medal in the final match of the Asian Qualifier held in Taiyang, China and was selected for the Para Olympics. She defeated Iran’s Lella Mirzai in K-44 category women’s 57 kg.
Similarly, she defeated Uzbekistan’s Karima Melikujieva 18-2 in the semi-final match and reached the final.
After winning the qualifying games, she succeeded in becoming the first para athlete of Nepal to participate in the Olympics. Palesha is also the historic bronze medalist of the 4th Asian Para Games.
