Rohit Sharma’s century gives India a consolation win over Australia
India has secured a consolation win in the ODI series against Australia. India defeated Australia by 9 wickets in the third match of the series that concluded on Saturday. Chasing a target of 237 runs set by Australia, India achieved the target in 38.3 overs, losing one wicket.
In India’s victory, Rohit Sharma scored an unbeaten 121 runs while Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 74 runs. Similarly, captain Shubman Gill scored 24 runs. Earlier, Australia, who had won the toss and elected to bat first, were all out for 236 in 46.4 overs, helped by Matt Renshaw’s 56 and captain Mitchell Marsh’s 41.
Similarly, Indian bowler Harshit Rana took 4 wickets while Washington Sundar took 2 wickets. With this, Australia won the ODI series 2-1. Now there will be a 5-match T20 series between India and Australia. The first match of the series will be played on October 29.
