The 22nd edition of NSJF Pulsar Sports Awards will be held in Pokhara
The 22nd edition of the NSJF Pulsar Sports Awards, organized annually by the Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF), is scheduled to be held on Bhadra 29.’
The forum, while organizing a program at the Yak & Yeti Hotel in the capital on Friday, announced that this year’s awards ceremony will be held in Pokhara. This is the first time in the history of the Pulsar Sports Awards that the awards ceremony is being held outside the valley.
Forum Chairman Niranjan Adhikari informed that since this time, Pokhara is also the Visit Pokhara Year, the award will be held in Pokhara in consultation with the sponsor. Chairman Adhikari also informed that he is confident of making the Pulsar Award special and grand this time.
Players, coaches, and sports personnel who have taken Nepali sports to the highest level throughout the year 2081 will be honored. The 22nd edition of the Sports Awards includes 10 categories.
It will include the Best Player of the Year (Male, Female, and Youth), as well as the Best Coach of the Year, People’s Choice Award, Para Athlete Award, Special Award, Team of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, and Asian Sports Journalist Award. The forum has stated that the nominations for the Player of the Year, Male, Female, Youth, and Coach of the Year, and People’s Choice will be made public in a few days. There is a provision for 5-5 nominations in each category.
There will be no nominations for the Team of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Special, Para Athlete, and Asian Sports Journalist Award categories.
All winners will be announced on the day of the awards ceremony. The winners of five categories – male, female, people’s choice, coach, and young player of the year – will receive a Pulsar motorcycle.
The winners of other categories will receive Rs 100,000 each, according to the NSJF. Similarly, the forum has also renewed its five-year agreement with Pulsar Motorcycles of the Golchha Group for the Pulsar Sports Awards.
The agreement was signed by the forum’s chairman, Niranjan Adhikari, and Golchha Group’s director, Abhimanyu Golchha. According to the agreement, Pulsar will provide cash assistance of Rs 4 million in the form of a motorcycle this year, Golchha informed.
This time, there has been an increase of 33 percent, Golchha informed. This is Pulsar’s 17th consecutive year of collaboration with the award.
