Dhangadi FC reaches to the final of NSL 2 beating Pokhara Thunders
Dhangadhi FC has reached the final of the ongoing Nepal Super League (NSL) football.
In the first qualifier of this season, Dhangadhi FC reached the final by defeating Pokhara Thunders 4-3 in the penalty shootout.
After both teams scored 1-1 in the scheduled 90-minute match, the match ended in a 2-2 tie after an additional 1-1 goal in the extra 30 minutes. After that, the game was decided in a penalty shootout.
Although Pokhara Thunders took the lead in the 10th minute of the first half of extra time with Stephen Kozo’s goal, Ahmed Hijaji of Dhangadhi scored a goal in the 120th minute of the game to tie the game 2-2.
Earlier, Pokhara took the lead in the fifth minute of the match with Ayush Ghalan’s goal, while in the 53rd minute of the match, Dhangadhi FC equalized with Devendra Tamang’s goal.
After this win, Dhangadhi reached the final. Despite the defeat, Pokhara Thunders will now have the opportunity to play the second qualifier. Now Pokhara will play the second qualifier against the winner of the eliminator between Kathmandu Razors and Lalitpur City FC.
The eliminator match will be held on Tuesday while the second qualifier will be held on Thursday. Similarly, the final match of this season is taking place on Saturday.
