England’s impressive 5-wicket win over India

England has won the first Test against India. England won the first match of the five-match Test series by 5 wickets. Chasing a target of 371 runs set by India, England achieved the target for the loss of 5 wickets on the fifth day of play.

Earlier, India had scored 364 runs in their second innings. Similarly, India, who batted first after losing the toss, had scored 471 runs in their first innings. England had scored 465 runs in their first innings.

A total of 7 centuries were scored in this Test. India’s Rishabh Pant scored centuries in both innings. Rishabh scored 134 runs in the first innings and 118 runs in the second innings.

Indian captain Shubman Gill scored 147 runs in the first innings, while India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 102 runs in the first innings. Similarly, India’s KL Rahul scored 137 runs in the second innings.

England player Ollie Pope scored 106 runs in the first innings, while Ben Duckett scored 149 runs in the second innings. After this win, England has taken a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. The second match of the series will now be played in Birmingham from July 2.
