Pakistan make history as they register thumping 10 wicket win over India

Shaheeen Afridi, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were the stars for Pakistan as they made history by beating India for the very first time in the history of the world cup.

Shaheen Shah Afridi gave Pakistan the dream start with the ball when he trapped Rohit Sharma for LBW with an inswing delivery. He also clean bowled KL Rahul in his second over. India were in deep trouble when Hasan Ali got the third wicket of Surya Kumar Yadav inside the powerplay. Rishabh Pant came in and formed an important partnership of 53 runs with the skipper. Pant looked to be aggressive but got out to to a Shadab Khan googly, skying the the ball into the hands of Shadab.

Virat Kohli was Indias’ best batsman with 57 of 49 balls. He couldn’t accelerate in the death overs and got out caught behind to a Shaheen Afridi slower ball which completely decieved him. India did manage to finish strong scoring 55 runs off the last five overs and setting Pakistan a target of 153.

Indias’ bowling had no answer to the brilliance of Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam. None of Indian pacers could get the ball to move around like Shaheen did. Pakistan were ahead of India all the time in the chase as Rizwan and Babar made sure the boundaries kept on coming. Both openers went on to score half-centuries, giving Pakistan their first 10-wicket victory in T20 internationals and India their first defeat by such a margin.
