Nepal’s dramatic win over Canada
Nepal wins dramatically over Canada in the first ODI bi-lateral series . Nepal defeated Canada by 7 runs in the match held at TU ground today . Chasing the target of 225 runs given by Nepal, Canada scored 217 runs in 47.5 overs and Nepal won by 7 runs.
Captain Rohit Paudel took 4 wickets in Nepal’s victory. Lalit Rajbanshi took 2 wickets while Sompal Kami, Kushal Malla, Pawan Saraf and Rijan Dhakal took one wicket each.
Earlier, after winning the toss, Nepal batted first and scored 224 runs in 50 overs.For Nepal, Kushal Bhurtel scored 62 runs, while Arif Sekh scored 38, Sompal Kami scored 27, Kushal Malla scored 20, Bhim Sarki scored 17, Pawan Saraf scored 15, Asif Sekh and Rohit Paudel scored 8 each, Surya Tamang scored 10 and Rijan Dhakal scored 4.
Similarly, Canada’s Balaruday Bhagwan Singh took 3 wickets, while Saad Bin Zafar and Ishwarjot Sohi took 2 each and Shahid Ahmadzai and Harsh Thacker took one wicket each.
With this victory, Nepal has taken a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series. Now the next match of the series will be held next Saturday.
