ICC T-20 CWC : England beats West Indies by 8 wickets

England defeated West Indies by 8 wickets in the Super Eight match of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup.

Chasing the target of 181 runs given by the West Indies, England achieved the target by losing 2 wickets in 17.3 overs.

Phil Salt scored 87 runs for England while Jonny Bairstrow scored 48 runs unbeaten. Similarly, captain Jos Buttler scored 25 runs and Moeen Ali scored 13 runs.

Earlier, West Indies, who lost the toss and batted first, scored 180 runs in 20 overs losing 4 wickets. Johnson Charles of West Indies scored 38 runs while Nicholas Pooran and captain Rovman Powell scored 36 runs each. Similarly, Sherfane Rutherford scored 28 and Brandon King scored 23.

Jofra Archer , Adil Rashid, Moeen Ali, Liam Livingstone took one wicket each for England

After this victory, England has gained an important 2 points in Group One of the Super Eight and is in the top position. Now England’s next match is scheduled to be played against South Africa on Friday night. Similarly, West Indies is playing against America on Saturday morning.
