Croatia returns to the World Cup, and Panama is eliminated
Croatia kept their hopes of reaching the last 32 of the FIFA World Cup alive with a 1-0 victory over Panama. Croatia registered its first win in Group L on Wednesday morning, securing a crucial three points. With this victory, Croatia will secure a place in the knockout stages if they win against Ghana. Ghana had previously played to a goalless draw with England.
Substitute Ante Budimir scored the only goal in the ninth minute of the second half. His goal ended Panama’s World Cup journey in the group stage, after suffering a second consecutive defeat.
