Jota and his brother’s funeral will be held on Saturday
The funeral of Portuguese footballer Diogo Jota, who died in a road accident, is scheduled to be held on Saturday. The funeral for Jota and his brother Andre Silva is expected to take place on Saturday morning in his hometown of Gondomar, in central Porto.
Jota and his brother Andre died in a car crash in the Spanish city of Zamora on Thursday. Both died after the car caught fire following the crash.
According to the BBC, Jota was returning to Liverpool on a ferry from Santander, Spain, as advised by his doctor not to travel by plane following lung surgery.
It is reported that Jota’s car was involved in an accident while reaching the ferry at Zamora, near the Portuguese border. He is said to have taken the same route back to Porto from England.
