Qatar scored a last-gasp goal in injury time to draw 1-1 with Switzerland in Group B of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. With this, Qatar has scored its first points in the final round of the World Cup.
For Qatar, which had been under pressure throughout the match, Boulem Khoukhi equalized in the 94th minute by heading in Homam El Amin’s cross. The last-minute goal sent coach Julen Lopetegui’s team into a frenzy of celebration.
Switzerland controlled most of the game, with Brill Embolo converting a penalty in the first half to give the team the lead.
