Nepal becomes champion of ICC World Cup qualifiers
Nepal has become the champion of the Asia and East Asia-Pacific region qualifiers for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Nepal became the champion by defeating Samoa by 124 runs in the final match of the Super Sixes of the competition.
Chasing the target of 212 runs set by Nepal, Samoa scored only 87 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Earlier, Nepal, who had batted first after losing the toss, scored 211 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Aasif Sheikh and Dipendra Singh Airee scored half-centuries for Nepal. Aasif scored 69 runs, and Airee scored 53 runs.
Similarly, Lokesh Bam scored an unbeaten 39 runs off 12 balls while captain Rohit Poudel scored 21 runs off 12 balls. Similarly, Kushal Malla scored 17 runs.
Nepal has won the title in this tournament without losing a single match. From this tournament, Nepal, Oman, and the UAE have been selected for the T20 World Cup to be held in India next year.
