Pacex Clinches 5-A-Side Women’s Futsal Title
Pacex has won the title of the 5-a-side Women’s Futsal Tournament organized by Pacex Sports Academy. In the final held at the R Square Game Station in Chyasal, Lalitpur, Pacex edged out Student FC 1–0 to claim the championship.
Krijal FC secured third place in the competition by defeating Nakhipot FC 2–1 in the third-place playoff.
Along with the title, Pacex Sports received a cash prize of NPR 55,000, along with a trophy, medals, and certificates. Runner-up Student FC received NPR 25,000, a trophy, medals, and certificates. Similarly, third-placed Krijal FC earned NPR 15,000, a trophy, medals, and certificates. Yakthung FC was named the Fair Play Team, receiving NPR 3,100 and a trophy.
In individual awards, Smriti Bhujel of Pacex Sports was named the Best Goalkeeper, receiving a trophy and NPR 3,100 in cash. Renuka Hamal of Krijal FC was named the Player of the Tournament, also earning NPR 3,100 and a trophy.
Lalitpur Metropolitan City Deputy Mayor Manjali Shakya Bajracharya attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest. She noted that such tournaments play a vital role in encouraging female athletes to remain active in sports.
Deputy Mayor Bajracharya stated that beyond offering female players a platform to showcase their talent, these events effectively foster confidence, leadership skills, and social empowerment through sports.
“To help women advance in sports, competitive opportunities must be created continuously,” she said. “Sports is not merely a competition; it inspires women to become confident, capable, and leaders.”
Sangeeta Karna, founder and president of Pacex Sports Academy, said the goal of organizing an event focused on female athletes was to give them a platform to display their talent and gain competitive experience.
“There is no shortage of talent among female athletes; what they need are the right opportunities and encouragement,” Karna said. “With this vision, we prioritized women’s futsal for this tournament. In the days ahead, Pacex will continue supporting female players on their sporting journeys, building their capacity and providing even bigger platforms.”
She praised the enthusiasm and competitive spirit of all participating teams, expressing confidence that events like this will inject fresh energy into the development of women’s futsal.
A total of 12 women’s teams participated in the tournament organized by Pacex Sports Academy. According to the organizers, the event helped generate greater interest in women’s futsal while offering local female athletes a vital stage to showcase their abilities.
