Babar Azam re-appointed as Pakistan’s captain

Pakistan Cricket Board on Sunday re-appointed Babar Azam as the captain of the Pakistan Cricket Team.

According to the board, Babar has been made the captain of the team keeping in mind the T-20 World Cup to be held this year.

Babar resigned from the captaincy of all formats of cricket in November last year, saying that the Pakistani team could not enter the semi-finals of the ODI World Cup held in India last year.

Pakistan Cricket Board announced through Twitter that Babar Azam has been reappointed. Babar Azam has been appointed for both the T20 and ODI teams after the unanimous recommendation of the board’s selection committee.

Earlier, fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi was given the responsibility of captaincy for T20 cricket as an interim arrangement. Also, Shaun Masood was made the Test cricket captain.

Pakistan is now playing T20 cricket against New Zealand, Ireland and England under Babar’s captaincy before the T20 World Cup in the United States and West Indies.
