The Nepal cricket team leaves for the UAE to play the T20 series against the West Indies
The Nepal national cricket team has left for the UAE to play the T20 series against the West Indies. Although they were scheduled to go there on Friday, the cricket team was stopped due to a visa issue in the UAE.
They went there to play the match against the West Indies in Sharjah, UAE. Nepal is scheduled to play a three-match Unity T20 series against West Indies on September 27, 29, and 30.
Cricket players were affected when the UAE suspended visit visas for Nepali citizens without issuing any prior notice, following the Gen Z protests in Nepal.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has selected a 16-member team under the captaincy of Rohit Poudel to play against the West Indies which includes Rohit Kumar Poudel (captain), Dipendra Singh Airee (vice-captain), Kushal Malla, Aasif Sheikh, Kushal Bhurtel, Aadil Alam, Lokesh Bam, Karan KC, Nandan Yadav, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Sandeep Lamichhane, Gulshan Jha, Sandeep Jora, Aarif Sheikh, Sompal Kami and Sahab Alam.
