India defeated Australia by 295 runs in the ongoing first Test. India set Australia a target of 534 runs at the Optus Stadium in Perth. In reply, India won by 295 runs after Australia were limited to 238 runs.
After winning the toss and batting first, India scored 150 runs in the first innings. In reply, Australia were bundled out for 104 runs in the first innings. Based on the first innings, India took a lead of 46 runs. India declared the second innings at 487 for six wickets and took a lead of 533 runs.
India played without Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Mohammed Shami in this Test. Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah, who took 8 wickets in this test, became the player of the match.
After this win, India is leading 1-0 in the five-match series. The second Test will start on December 6 in Adelaide.
