NPL: Janakpur Bolts winning streak ends, Janakpur lost against Sudurpaschim

Sudurpaschim Royals defeated Janakpur Bolts, who have been unbeaten so far in this Nepal Premier League (NPL).

Batting first on Wednesday, Sudurpaschim Royals scored 123 runs. In response, Janakpur Bolts were limited to 51 runs and Sudurpaschim defeated Janakpur by 72 runs. This is the lowest score ever made in the NPL.

Earlier, Pokhara Avengers were all out for 74 runs against Chitwan Rhinos. Joshua Trump scored the highest 13 runs for Janakpur. He hit 1 four and 1 six off 13 balls.

Other Janakpur batsmen could not score runs in double figures. Lahiru Milantha got out scoring 7 runs. Opener Aasif Sheikh was dismissed with 4, captain Anil Sah without opening the account of runs, and Harsh Thaker with 5 runs. For Far West, captain Dipendra Singh Airee and Ishan Pandey took 2 wickets each, and Scott Kuggeleijn, Naren Saud, Saif Ali Zaib, and Harmeet Singh took 1 wicket each.

Before that, Sudurpaschim, who lost the toss and batted first, lost 9 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs and made a total of 123 runs. Opener Binod Bhandari scored 33 runs for Sudurpaschim. Binod, who got out as the third wicket, hit 3 fours and 1 six off 35 balls and was caught out by Joshua Trump off Sher Malla.

Saif Ali Zaib scored 21 runs in 21 balls with the help of 2 sixes. As the first wicket, Saif was dismissed in the fourth ball of the eighth over. Ishan Pandey scored 17 runs in 14 balls with the help of 1 four and 1 six. Ishan was caught by Jimmy Neesham off Kishore Mahato.

In the 18th over, Janakpur fast bowler Kishore Mahato took 4 wickets and the team completely dominated the game. Sudurpaschim scored 42 runs without losing any wickets in the power play. In the last 14 overs, adding 81 runs, they lost 9 wickets.

Harmeet Singh, who made his NPL debut, was dismissed as the second wicket. Singh could only score 1 run in 3 balls. Singh was bowled out by Sher Malla.


As the fourth wicket, captain Dipendra Singh Airee got out without opening the account of runs. As the fifth match of Sudurpaschim continued, captain Dipendra was dismissed for the first time in this tournament without opening the account of runs.

Brendan McMullen was dismissed for the fifth wicket after scoring 11 runs. Arniko, who faced 17 balls, was caught by Joshua Trump, who was making his NPL debut in this match.

Arif Shaikh 6, Scott Kuggeleijn 7 Naren Saud were dismissed for 3 runs. Abhinash Bohora 2 and Naresh Budhyair remained not out for 9 runs. For Janakpur, Kishore took 4 wickets . Arniko Yadav and Sher took 2 each and Harsh Thaker took 1 wicket.

By winning the fourth game in the fifth match, Sudurpaschim has risen to the top position. Defeated Janakpur fell to second place with their first loss in the fifth game. Janakpur has failed to reach the playoffs after 2 games with the loss.
