In the mega auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL), 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi is being discussed everywhere after Rajasthan Royals bought him for 1 crore 10 lakh upees.

His base price was Rs 30 lakh and he was sold for almost four times his base price. He became the youngest player to be auctioned in the history of IPL auction.

Bihar’s Vaibhav created history as the youngest player to be shortlisted for the IPL auction at the age of 13 years and 242 days. There was a fight between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals to get him in the auction and finally, Rajasthan bought him for 11 million rupees.

Left-handed batsman Baibhav has shown excellent performance with his bat at a young age. After making his first-class debut for Bihar in January 2024, Suryavanshi grabbed everyone’s attention with a brilliant century in the Australia U-19 Youth Test series against India U-19 in October. He grabbed everyone’s attention by scoring a century in 58 balls in that match.

Along with this, Vaibhav has set the record for the fastest century by an Indian in Under-19 Tests. The young player hit 14 fours and four hundreds in his strong innings. He was run out after scoring 104 runs off 62 balls. Vaibhav’s batting style is similar to Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan. His innings against Australia included a variety of shots including square drives, pulls at deep mid-wicket, and cover drives.

Vaibhav is the same batsman who made his debut in the Ranji Trophy 2024 at the age of 12 years and 284 days. He became the fourth youngest player to do so. He has broken the records of many players including Sachin Tendulkar.

Vaibhav’s cricketing journey began at the age of nine when he received initial coaching from his father, Sanjeev Suryavanshi. His father’s passion for cricket and his dedication inspired Vaibhav to achieve remarkable success at such a young age, making him a promising talent in Indian cricket. Now Suryavanshi is preparing to represent India in the U19 Asia Cup.
