Nepali cricket team to play practice matches in Sri Lanka and India before the World Cup
The Nepali national cricket team is set to play practice matches in Sri Lanka and India in preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. According to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), the Nepali team will play practice matches against Sri Lanka A and Colts in Sri Lanka on January 20, January 22, and January 24.
Similarly, CAN has informed that the Nepali team will play a practice match against the Mumbai Cricket Association President’s XI in India on January 29 and will play against the CCI on January 31. C
Rohit Poudel (captain), Dipendra Singh Airee (vice-captain), Sandeep Lamichhane, Kushal Bhurtel, Asif Sheikh, Sandeep Jora, Gulshan Jha, and Sompal Kami, Nandan Yadav, Lalit Rajbanshi, Lokesh Bam, Aarif Sheikh, Karan KC, Sher Malla, and Bashir Ahmed have been selected.
The ICC T-20 World Cup will be held in India and Sri Lanka from February 7 to March 8. Nepal’s group includes Bangladesh, England, Italy, and the West Indies.
