Paro FC beats Church boys united
Bhutan’s Paro FC defeated Nepal’s Church Boys United Club in the preliminary round of the AFC Challenge League.
On Tuesday, the Church Boys lost to Paro with a 2-1 goal difference in the presence of more than 9,000 home supporters at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar.
Laken Limbu scored a goal to give Church Boys the lead on the ground which was muddy due to rain. Paro equalized in the next minute. Kinga scored a goal to tie the game at one-one after goalkeeper Deep Karki failed to control it.
But the Church Boys could not even save the tie. Paro scored in the second half. Bhutan registered a victory by protecting the lead of 2-1 with the goal of William. With this victory, Paro has entered the group stage of the AFC Challenge League. Paro also played against Church Boys in the qualifying stage of the AFC Cup held last year. In that game, the church boys won.
