Italy’s Oumaya Codial to play for Kathmandu Spikers in EWVL
Kathmandu Spikers have signed Italian player Oumaya Codial for the Vatsalya Everest Women’s Volleyball League (EWWL). Kathmandu Spikers have announced the signing of middle blocker/opposite Oumayah as their third foreign player.
Kathmandu Spikers have previously signed Bulgarian setter Polina Nikolaeva Neykova and Kazakhstani opposite hitter Alena Kolotygina. Kathmandu Spikers have strengthened the balance of their team by signing players from three different positions.
In the first season, foreign players from Turkey and Bulgaria played for Kathmandu. With over a decade of experience, Oumaima Kodiel has primarily played as a middle blocker. She can also play opposite hitter. She has a special expertise in the slide attack.
Born in Morocco, Codial started playing in Italy after moving to Italy with her mother. She has played in competitions for various teams in countries including Italy, France, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and more.
She has achieved many achievements both as a team and individually. She has recently played professional volleyball for teams such as Al Etihad FC in Saudi Arabia, Aman Marrakech in Morocco, and Pescara in Sirde in Italy.
Codial won a bronze medal at the African Games with the Moroccan national team in 2019. She also won bronze for Morocco at the African Women’s Volleyball Championship in Kigali in 2021. Codial, who is about to play in the league in Nepal for the first time, is very excited. ‘It is a great honor for me to play in the Everest Women’s Volleyball League in Nepal.
The second edition of the Vatsalya Everest Women’s Volleyball League (EWWL), organized by Infinity Dreams, will be held from Bhadra 20 to 28 (September 5-13).
