Barcelona lost to Monaco

Spanish giants Barcelona have been defeated in the first match of the UEFA Champions League. Barcelona lost 2-1 to French club Monaco in the Thursday night match.

This is Barcelona’s first defeat under new coach Hansi Flick. The team continues their unbeaten run in La Liga.

Barcelona were reduced to 10 players after Eric Garcia received a red card in the tenth minute of the game.

In the 16th minute, Magnes Akliuche gave Monaco the lead. Yamal scored the equalizing goal in the 28th minute. However, in the 71st minute, George Lenikhena scored and gave Monaco three points.

Lamin Yamal scored for Barcelona. He became the second youngest player to score in the Champions League. Earlier, Barcelona’s Ansu Fati scored the goal in 2019.
